To help tourists and visitors from all over the world to make a sort of pilgrimage, to persuade them into crazy world of film, in which they can choose the city of your dreams among all of them, while keeping attention on this shorties, leaving thoughts about work, study and all sorts of everyday concerns. To introduce Rivne City in an unusual way for all the guests, where inhabitants are trying to turn it into a Dream City, the city with a comfortable stay for all. To share an information about Ukraine, her creative achievements, integration of Ukrainian culture into the global and European cultural space.

Rivne International Film Festival “Dream City” will be held for 5 days between two favorite holidays of inhabitants of Rivne. At this Film Festival will be selected the works of different genres that are distributed on sections in which there are bands that disclose a variety of aspects of the settlement from the big city to a small town, their uniqueness and originality. All histories can happen in any city, no matter if it would be real or fictional, the main characters could be inhabitants or even visitors, who would do some deeds or any actions to change it into Home of their Dreams, the city where everyone would feel comfortable in all aspects of life, especially social, economic, linguistic, religious, national and many others.

Rules & Terms
All submission fees are non-refundable. We will not return your screening and exhibition copies. (If you can’t make payment, write us and we will consider your case.) The Festival Directorate may deny participation to any film unable to meet the technical requirements for a public screening of good quality. The festival has the right to disqualify a winning film for any reasons, without having to explain the reasons to the submitter.

Please submit subtitles on all work except English narratives. Every film spoken in an language different than English must have english subtitles, since this is an international festival.We accept films of any genre and of any lenght. Submissions are possible only via Filmfreeway! We accept any film that has been completed after January 1, 2011. Films that have debuted online are ineligible. Our programmers and jury will make final decisions and notify filmmakers accordingly. All decisions are final and feedback for individual films is not available. CHANCES reserves the right to make any necessary changes in regulations or scheduling.

We invite the citizens of Berdychiv to participate in this nomination, which gives the opportunity to try yourself as a film director. We are waiting for the films of different genres, the duration is 15 minutes. You can make a movie with the help of the camera or mobile. The main thing that we expect is an interesting idea, themes can be different. If you are not the citizen of Berdychiv, but you want to participate in this category, then you must connect the topic of your movie with our city.

There are 7 Ukrainian premieres in National competition and one of them will be Ukrainian short film “The House on the edge of the planet, which had got an award at Los Angeles CiniFest before its first official Ukrainian premier. National and International competition winners will be chosen by professionals from film industry from Ukraine and abroad. Their names will be announced during press conference, which will take place on January 29, 2016 at 11 a.m. in Ukrainian Media Crisis Center (Kchreshchatyk 2, Ukrainian House on European square).

The official opening of the festival will take place on February 12th at 17:00. The opening film of the festival is an award-winning comedy short film “How I didn’t become a piano player”, which got Audience Award and and Special mention at “Molodist” Kyiv International film festival.

Films of young talented directors are being searched in the following areas:
- animated films;
- documentary films;
-feature films;
- experimental films.

The key requirements are duration (up to 20 minutes) and accordance with the thematics of the film festival (films about the role and influence of media).

This year the organizers make a special emphasis on the topic of informational war, therefore, in addition to traditional films about media and their role in the life of society, films about the impact of media on the collective consciousness, informational propaganda, freedom of speech, choice between truth and lies are accepted to the contest.

«Kinomedia» is a unique non-profit film festival. It aims to cover the principles of work of journalists, reporters, TV presenters, PR practitioners and others, who write, film, tell and create in the sphere of media. The first festival was held in 2010, since then it has been held annually.

The festival’s goal is to support the right perception of the role of media as an important element of democratic society, understanding of the importance of existence of independent objective media that give to everyone an opportunity to consciously make important decisions and not to be a puppet in the world of information and propaganda. The aim of the film festival is to discover and support new directorial talents in Ukraine.

The organizer of the film festival is the Independent Association of Broadcasters. The event is supported by the National Endowment for Democracy (NED).
