Screenwriting lecture by Dmitry Kostromenko

The ninth of October in Masha Zolotova studio the screenwriting lecture by Dmitry Kostromenko will take place.

Dmitry Kostromenko was born in 1958. After high school he studied three years at the Hydrometeorological Institute with a degree in “physics of the sea”. Two years he served in the army. Then he graduated from the Philological Faculty in Odessa National University. Then he was a school teacher for five years.


Since 1989 Kostromenko works as a screenwriter. His first filmed script was “Deserter”. Dmitry left work at school and went to the All-Russian State University of Cinematography named after S. A. Gerasimov, where he graduated in 1995 with a degree in “Screenwriter, Filmworker and TV-worker”. During his studies the following scripts by Dmitry have been filmed: "Night of sinners" and its TV version "Higher Truth bomber Alexis" (1991), "Do not fly away, Earthman!" (1991) and "Air pirates" (1992).


During the 90's  Dmitry wrote about twenty scenarios, some failed to sell. He had to do commercials, to illustrate books and articles. Kostromenko was published in various magazines, he taught acting, Norbekova system and screenwriting courses. Dmitry worked for television (a night TV-program "Armand", a TV-program "Veteran", a TV-movie "Scent of Duva").Also he taught in Odessa National University named after I. I. Mechnikov. worked in Theatre for Young Audience as head of the literary section.


 Since 2001 Dmitry Kostromenko was giving lectures in the Odessa Theatre and Art College. He returned to movies in 2003 with 8-episode film "Plus infinity". In 2009 - "Pistol of Stradivari". Nowadays Dmitry writes three new scripts.
