Kinofest NYC is a film festival that celebrates independent cinema from Ukraine and other countries of the former Soviet Union. A new voice in the New York cinema community, Kinofest NYC brings New Yorkers an intriguing look at independent film coming these new countries that are on the eastern border of continental Europe. The festival’s objective is to highlight emerging film talent by publicly screening full length features, documentaries, film shorts and animations that have a focus on this region. Kinofest NYC is brought to you by a group of people who believe in the power of the individual narrative and the need to present the compelling story of the post-Soviet experience.

Kinofest NYC is now accepting film submissions for its March 2011 festival.

All submitted entries must be received by 14 January 2011, in Kiev till 31 December 2010.
